Day 1
Welcome to the 21 Day Prayer Challenge
We invite you to join us for 21 days of intentional prayer. Check here every day for prayer prompts for this challenge. We are excited to see what God does through prayer!
Prayer Prompt:
Pray that you will develop a praying life.
Prayer:
Lord, we pray that the power and privilege of prayer will transform our faith. May we not become weary or lazy but vigilant and watchful about praying. I pray for a spirit of thankfulness that we have the privilege of speaking directly with You, Father. May we bring You prayer mingled with praise; this is our heart’s desire as we come to You during these 21 days. We praise You for the privilege of praying to You whenever and however we are.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
Prayer Tip:
Stay vigilant and awake! When Paul tells us to be vigilant or watchful when we pray, he is literally telling us to stay wakeful. It can be a struggle against sleep when we pray. It’s tempting to give ourselves to sleep when our minds and bodies are tired, and we close our eyes to pray. Or maybe we just go through the motions of prayer as if we are asleep. Adding the element of thanksgiving to our prayers can help keep them from being rote and sleepy, and remembering to be spiritually alert will aid us in keeping our prayers alive and active.
Scripture:
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
Colossians 4:2
