Day 21

Welcome to Day 21 of the 21-Day Prayer Challenge.

We invite you to join us for 21 days of intentional prayer. Check here every day for prayer prompts for this challenge. We are excited to see what God does through prayer.

Prayer Prompt:
Pray for the Universal Church

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we lift up the Church, the Body and Bride of Christ. We pray against the attacks of the enemy. Some days, the spiritual battle feels so intense and endless, and we get weary and weak. It can be hard to feel as if we are defeated; help us to remember that You will never leave or forsake us. You, Lord, are our Refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). If we would just be still and know that You are God, there will come a day when You will be honored among all the nations, exalted over all the earth (Psalm 46:10). Lord as Your representatives help us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling that we’ve been given, with humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of Your Spirit in the binding ourselves together with peace (Ephesians 4:1-3). Forgive us for being too busy and distracted by what isn’t important.  Help us to be faithful to go into the world - our homes, communities, this nation, and the whole world - and share the light and the hope of the gospel.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Prayer Truth:

God’s purpose and intention for prayer is that our hearts will always be drawn to Him. Prayer functions to release His power, will, and purposes. God has chosen to work in partnership with His people through prayer. He could accomplish whatever He needs to without us, but He chooses to use the prayers of His people to achieve His purposes. It’s a beautiful truth that the Father has created prayer so that our hearts will always be drawn toward Him.

Scripture:
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
Ephesians 2:19-22 (ESV)
