Day 13

Welcome to Day 13 of the 21-Day Prayer Challenge.

We invite you to join us for 21 days of intentional prayer. Check here every day for prayer prompts for this challenge. We are excited to see what God does through prayer.

Prayer Prompt:
Pray for the youth at Ignite.

Prayer:
Jesus, we pray for the teens and young adults of our church. Create clean and pure hearts as they experience renewed and steadfast spirits. Help them keep their eyes fixed on You; fill them with courage and strength as they navigate life’s challenges. May they know they aren’t alone on this journey. Bring godly mentors and role models into their lives. Lord, strengthen their faith and reliance on You and help them to live according to Your will, not the way of the world. May they be lights amidst the darkness and boldly speak the truth of hope in the face of brokenness. Thank You for the gifts they possess; we praise You for being faithful in developing those gifts in their lives. We pray for their protection. Guard their hearts and their minds. Give them wisdom and discernment as they form meaningful relationships, knowing who to trust and allow into their lives. Grant them courage to stand firm in their faith and not be swayed by the things of this world. We praise You for the hope found in the youth of Ignite.
In Your Name, we pray, Amen.

Prayer Truth:
“Does our faith depend on having every prayer answered as we think it should be answered, or does it rest on the character of a sovereign Lord?” ~ Elisabeth Elliot
Building a life of prayer becomes more meaningful when we realize that the outcome is more about cultivating a relationship with the Father and discovering His nature than it is about receiving a particular outcome. Prayer is one of the building blocks for a growing faith and trust in God. It’s difficult to trust someone you don’t know very well. And how do we get to know someone? By spending time with them, getting to know their character, experiencing their trustworthiness, and studying what makes them who they are. The same is true of God! We get to know Him by having deep conversations, sharing our hearts, fears, joys, and sorrows, and discovering His character by reading His Word.

Scripture:
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.”
Psalm 51:10-12 (NKJV)
