Prayer Prompt: Pray for the world at large.
Prayer:
Lord, we pray for those who are lost and unsaved and those who have not yet been reached with the Gospel. We pray You will provide opportunities and people willing to go and share the truth of the Good News, both missionaries and local believers. We pray for the translation of the Bible in all languages. Lord, may hearts be softened towards You. We pray for safety, provision, boldness, wisdom, and discernment as they go, sometimes to dangerous places, to reach the lost. Father, we pray for those Christians around the world who are persecuted for claiming Your name. We pray that You would continue to strengthen Your Church, helping them endure mocking, imprisonment, beatings, and even death. We pray that persecuted Christians everywhere would know the confident hope You have given to those You have called, the surety of the inheritance You have promised (Ephesians 1:18). Jesus, we pray for Christians around the world to be completely faithful and surrendered to Your will, and that as we share in Your sufferings, we would be able to rejoice in the hope God offers to us (1 Peter 4:12-14).
In Jesus’ Name, Amen
Prayer Truth:
True prayer is when God’s heart is expressed through our words. The more we pray and learn about God’s will regarding prayer, the more we discover that our desires reflect His. Spending consistent time in His Word, we’ll experience His Words expressed in our prayers. Matthew 12:34 tells us that our mouths speak from the overflow of our hearts. If our hearts are filled with the truths of God’s Word and the understanding of who He is and who we are in Him, then our prayers will reflect that. We don’t need to have all the right words; our prayers don’t need to be eloquent. They can be messy and simple; He hears every sigh and groan that is sometimes all we can pray. As God molds our hearts to match His, our hearts will overflow in prayer.
Scripture:
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all the nations.
Psalm 67:1-2 (ESV)
