Day 3
Welcome to Day 2 of the 21-Day Prayer Challenge
We invite you to join us for 21 days of intentional prayer. Check here every day for prayer prompts for this challenge. We are excited to see what God does through prayer!
Prayer Prompt:
Pray for your family and over your home.
Prayer:
Dearest Father, we place our family in Your capable and sovereign hands. Bless our children and give them hearts to follow you. Let the peace of Christ rule in our home. Cultivate kindness and thankfulness for one another. Lead us to be quick to show love and forgiveness and slow to be angry and say hurtful things. Let the message of the Gospel motivate the way we run our home. Allow it to be a place of peace and hospitality. We ask that anyone who steps through the doors and comes within the walls of our house be covered with compassion, kindness, humility, and strength. We pray You would use our family and home to glorify You, furthering the Gospel and Your kingdom.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Prayer Truth:
We might become discouraged in our prayer life if we believe the lie that says God hasn’t answered our prayers. While it might be that God has not answered specific prayers the way we would like Him to or how we expected, the truth is that God always answers our prayers. The answer might be “yes,” but it is also possible that His answer could be “no,” “not yet,” or “not this way.” We can be assured that He always hears our prayers and, in His sovereignty, knows what is for our best. When we are discouraged by the prayers for our family that seem to go unanswered, remember that when we pray with a right heart, we never pray in vain.
Scripture:
Choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Joshua 24:4-5 (ESV)
