Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of the 21-Day Prayer Challenge.

We invite you to join us for 21 days of intentional prayer. Check here every day for prayer prompts for this challenge. We are excited to see what God does through prayer.

Prayer Prompt:
Pray for our church family at Ignite.

Prayer:
Dearest Father, We pray for our church family at Ignite Wesleyan. Help us as we navigate this season of transition and uncertainty. Increase our hope, put action to our faith, and keep our eyes focused on Your truth. Help our church body walk in a manner worthy of the calling You’ve given us. Help as we interact with each other, giving us humble and gentle hearts, and grant us patience, bearing with one another in love. Grant us unity and bless us in the fellowship of believers. May we walk humbly with You, allowing conviction and correcting of any wrongdoing. Help us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow You. You know our hearts, Father, that our flesh is weak even when our spirits are willing. Examine our hearts and make us more like You: less selfish, more selfless, less proud and more humble and gentle in spirit, willing to deny ourselves and yet bold to share the truth of the Gospel. Lord, we give You all the glory and honor for what You are doing in our lives and through this church.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Tip:
Follow Jesus’ example of withdrawing to a solitary place to pray (Luke 22:39-46). Be intentional about creating a space to spend focused time with God in prayer—a place devoted to prayer and Bible study that’s quiet and free from distractions and clutter. Keep a bible, prayer cards, a journal, and a pen close by so you can jot down names of those God brings to mind to pray for or to write your prayers out. A box of tissues nearby would probably be wise because when our words to God flow, the tears generally do too!

Scripture:
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:23-25
