Prayer Prompt:
Pray for your spouse, your future spouse, or, if you aren’t married, the marriage of someone else in your life or in the church.
Prayer:
Oh Lord, thank You for the gift of my spouse and our marriage. I pray that Your divine purpose will be fulfilled in and through our marriage as we allow You to work in our hearts daily. May we draw closer to You and one another, with the three-stranded cord of love binding our hearts together to become one unit, a unified and strong team, ready and willing to serve You by serving one another. Help us to walk humbly in Your wisdom and not the wisdom of this world. May our marriage strengthen our faith, and our faith strengthen our marriage. We desire our marriage to reflect You and Your redemptive plan for all the earth.
In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
Prayer Truth:
Prayer shouldn’t be a last-ditch effort when everything else fails. It should always be our first line of defense. Building a foundation of prayer before trouble strikes means that we will be thoroughly prepared for battle when the enemy attacks. Prayer is essential for spiritual growth. Through prayer, we gain spiritual strength and activate the armor of God. Through prayer, we can stand against attacks of discouragement and doubt. It shouldn’t be something we practice only here and there as the need arises, but it should become part of the fabric of our daily living.
Scripture:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
