Day 16

Welcome to Day 16 of the 21-Day Prayer Challenge.

We invite you to join us for 21 days of intentional prayer. Check here every day for prayer prompts for this challenge. We are excited to see what God does through prayer.

Prayer Prompt:
Pray for the new Lead  Pastor search, for the man God sends to lead Ignite, and for his family.

Prayer:

Jesus, we put the search for a new Lead Pastor of Ignite in Your hands. We pray for patience, humility, and trust as we wait for You to bring him here. We pray You will continue to use him where he is right now, that he will honor You where You have placed him, and that You will prepare his heart and his family for where You are calling him to be. We pray he will be a man who seeks after Your heart and desires to bring the truth of Your gospel to the people of Ignite. May this be a Pastor who leads by humility and wisdom and love of You. We pray that there will be wisdom and guidance as the LBA works on the process of hiring a new Lead Pastor. Give patience and trust to the Ignite Staff as they continue to lead and minister to the church body. And cover the congregation of Ignite with the peace of knowing that You are sovereign and loving and leading just the right man to this position. Prepare our church body to welcome him and his family. Lord, we have no timetable for when this is accomplished; we trust in Your perfect will and Your perfect time.
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Prayer Truth:

Prayer is easy to talk about, but a lot harder to understand. It’s a natural instinct for Christians to say, “I will pray for you”, but a lot harder to understand how it works. I love this quote by Andrew Murray, “We must begin to believe that God, in the mystery of prayer, has entrusted us with a force that can move the Heavenly world, and can bring its power down to earth.” Prayer is a force that can move the heavenly world!! It is through prayer that heaven comes to earth and the impossible becomes possible. Do you have a request that seems outrageous? Nothing is outrageous to God. His presence and power are ours for the asking because it’s how we engage with God.

Scripture:
“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
Jeremiah 3:15 (ESV)
